Travel from London to Cambridge
Below are some suggested travel routes from airports in London to Cambridge. Please note that there are other alternative options available for your journey. We recommend checking the latest schedules, connections, and any potential disruptions before you travel. For the most up-to-date route information, we suggest using online journey planners like Google Maps or Citymapper.
Additionally, we recommend downloading the “Uber” or “Bolt” app on your phone before your trip, as getting around Cambridge may be less convenient depending on your arrival and departure times.
Train to Cambridge Railway Station (2 to 3 hours)
Option 1:
- Take the Heathrow Express train from Heathrow Airport to London Paddington Station.
- From London Paddington, take the London Underground (Tube) to London King’s Cross station.
- At King’s Cross, take a direct train to Cambridge.
Option 2:
- From Heathrow Airport, take the Piccadilly Line on the London Underground to King’s Cross St Pancras station.
- At King’s Cross, take a direct train to Cambridge.
Option 3:
- From Heathrow Airport, take the Elizabeth Line to Farringdon.
- At Farringdon Station, take a direct train to Cambridge.
Coach/Bus (2 to 3 hours)
National Express operates services from Heathrow Airport to Cambridge Parkside (City Centre) Bus Stop. From the bus stop at Cambridge, please take an Uber/Bolt (recommended) or a local bus to the venue.
Please book your coach ticket online beforehand as seats on the National Express coach can fill up quickly and they may not let you on if the coaches are fully booked.
Car (2 to 2.5 hours)
It will take approximately 1.5 to 2.5 hours to get from Heathrow Airport to Cambridge by car.
Train to Cambridge Railway Station (2 hours)
Option 1:
From London Gatwick Airport, take a direct train to Cambridge. (Thameslink)
Option 2:
You can also take the same train (Thameslink) but transfer at King’s Cross Station (Great Northern) to reach Cambridge depending on the time you arrive at the airport.
Coach/Bus (4.5 to 5 hours)
National Express operate services from Gatwick Airport to Cambridge Parkside (City Centre) Bus Stop.
Please book your coach ticket online beforehand as seats on the National Express coach can fill up quickly.
Car (2.5 to 3.5 hours)
It will take approximately 2.5 to 3.5 hours to get from Gatwick Airport to Cambridge by car.
Train to Cambridge Railway Station (2 to 3 hours)
Option 1:
- From London City Airport, take the DLR to Bank Station and transfer to Northern Line on the London Underground to King’s Cross St Pancras station.
- You can also take the DLR to West Ham and transfer to Hammersmith & City Line on the London Underground to King’s Cross St Pancras station.
- At King’s Cross, take a direct train to Cambridge.
Option 2:
- From London City Airport, take the DLR to Stratford Station and transfer to Central Line on the London Underground to Liverpool Street station.
- At Liverpool Street Station, take a direct train to Cambridge.
Car (1.5 to 2 hours)
It will take approximately 1.5 to 2 hours to get from London City Airport to Cambridge by car.
Train to Cambridge Railway Station (30 mins)
From London Stansted Airport, take a direct train to Cambridge. (Greater Anglia or Cross Country)
Coach/Bus (2 to 3 hours)
National Express operates services from Stansted Airport to Cambridge Parkside (City Centre) Bus Stop.
Please book your coach ticket online beforehand as seats on the National Express coach can fill up quickly.
Car (45 minutes)
It will take approximately 45 minutes to get from Stansted Airport to Cambridge by car.
Train to Cambridge Railway Station (2 hours)
Depending on the time you arrive at Luton Aiport, the options may differ. Please kindly check on Google Maps or email the team at Citrin Foundation with your flight details and we may be able to advise you.
Coach/Bus (1.5 hours)
National Express operates services from Luton Airport to Cambridge Parkside (City Centre) Bus Stop.
Please book your coach ticket online beforehand as seats on the National Express coach can fill up quickly.
Car (1 to 1.5 hours)
It will take approximately 1 to 1.5 hours to get from Luton Airport to Cambridge by car.
Travel from Cambridge to Møller Institute
There are several ways you can get to Møller Institute. Please note that below are suggestions and there may be delays/suspensions of public transport on the day. These are not the only ways to get there and we recommend you download a navigating application on your mobile device to check the most convenient and efficient way to get to the venue.
Please note the Møller Institute is located in the grounds of Churchill College but is a separate building, approximately 500 meters on the left. Enter the carpark there and follow the signage to main reception. Please note that the Porter’s Lodge in Churchill College can not check Møller Institute guests in.

1. U Bus (Universal):
- Alighting Stop: Storey’s Way
- Walking Distance to Møller Institute: Approximately 0.4 miles (644 meters), about a 10-minute walk
- Route: After alighting, walk along Storey’s Way until you reach the Møller Institute within the grounds of Churchill College.
2. Citi 4 Bus:
- Alighting Stop: Storey’s Way
- Walking Distance to Møller Institute: Approximately 0.4 miles (644 meters), about a 10-minute walk
- Route: From the bus stop, proceed along Storey’s Way to arrive at the Møller Institute.
3. X5 Bus:
- Alighting Stop: Storey’s Way
- Walking Distance to Møller Institute: Approximately 0.4 miles (644 meters), about a 10-minute walk
- Route: After disembarking, walk along Storey’s Way leading directly to the Møller Institute.
The main vehicular entrance is from Storey’s Way, just off Madingley Road, near the main Churchill College entrance.
Sat Nav warning: Please use CB3 0DS. Some Sat Nav systems take you as far as the speed restrictions.
